Remembering Gregory D. Timmons, Esq.

The forging industry recently lost a great member and friend. On July 29, 2021 Gregory D. Timmons, Esq. passed away too soon after a courageous six-year battle with cancer. Greg served as General Counsel for the Ellwood Group for the past seven years. Greg held a J.D. from the Duquesne University School of Law where he was a member of the Duquesne Law Review, as well as a B.S. in Information and Decision Systems with a minor in Statistics from Carnegie Mellon University.

Greg was a valued member of the Forging Industry Association. He actively participated as a subject matter expert and speaker, chair of the public policy committee, and most recently as a member of the FIA Board of Directors. Greg was instrumental in helping FIA with trade policy related matters and was the lead counsel for the fluid end block coalition. Greg had a passion for ice hockey and dedicated the past 36 years to coaching Bishop Canevin High School, the Pittsburgh Predators, and many more. In lieu of flowers, family suggests memorial contributions to UPMC Hillman Cancer Center (www.hillmanresearch.upmc.edu/giving/). The Forging Industry Association sends thoughts and condolences to Greg’s family, friends and colleagues during this difficult time. ■

Prior to joining EGI, he worked as the General Counsel of the Americas region for the Eramet Group, a mining and metals company headquartered in Paris, France. Greg began his legal career with Babst Calland in Pittsburgh where he became a shareholder in 2000.
