Women in Forging Luncheon: More than 50 women gathered for an engaging luncheon and presentation, with roundtable discussions and group participation, led by JJ DiGeronimo, a woman in tech and award-winning author of The Working Woman’s GPS, Accelerate Your Impact, and SEEKING.
FIERF Forging Competition: Nine teams competed in the first ever FIERF Forging Competition. The teams were tasked with making two tuning forks that achieved an assigned frequency. The winners of this year’s competition were announced by Ben Abbott on Thursday, May 25. Congratulations to the winning teams: Best Process: Colorado School of Mines; Closest to the Frequency: University of North Texas; and People’s Choice Award: University of Cincinnati.
Next Gen Meet Up: FIA & FIERF opened their booth up during the networking reception on Wednesday, May 24 for Next Gen attendees under the age of 35 to network and connect. Those who joined were given a free Next Gen t-shirt (provided by sponsor Weber Metals) and got to have a meet and greet with Forged in Fire star, Ben Abbott. Attendees also had the opportunity to get new professional headshots taken while at the booth.
