FORGING DAY 2026 Help Put the Industry in the Spotlight

T he Forging Industry America to help celebrate Forging Day on Oct. 9, 2026 , and raise awareness of the essential role forging plays in everyday life. Association is calling on companies across North

opportunities to connect with policymakers and demonstrate the forging industry’s impact on local jobs, economic development and supply chain security. Companies can also participate by hosting a plant tour, organizing a career day, visiting a local classroom, recognizing employees, inviting elected officials to their facilities or sharing photos and stories through social media. Even a small activity can help introduce students, educators and community leaders to the people and technologies behind modern forging. FIA and FIERF have developed resources to help companies plan Forging Day activities and submit proclamation requests. By participating, members can help make forging more visible, celebrate the industry’s workforce and inspire the next generation of manufacturing professionals. Forging Day offers companies an opportunity to showcase these contributions while recognizing the skilled employees, innovative technologies and manufacturing communities that keep the industry moving forward. Ohio is already helping lead the celebration. Gov. Mike DeWine has signed a proclamation officially recognizing Oct. 9 as Forging Day in the state of Ohio. The proclamation acknowledges Ohio’s strong forging heritage and the industry’s continued importance to the state and national economy. FIA is encouraging members in other states to build on that momentum by requesting similar proclamations from their governors, state legislatures or local government officials. A proclamation can help generate public awareness, create
