Time to Start Considering Research Topics The FIATechnical Committee facilitates, develops and disseminates technical knowledge relative to the forging process and forging supply chain for the benefit of FIA Members while also working closely with Magnet Schools. After some discussion the committee feels that there is a need in the industry for projects pertaining to: • Simulation • Physical Test Data for Industry Relevant Materials to Support Simulation • Heat Treatment Simulations • Additive Manufacturing
• Micro and Meso-Structural Framework for Accurate Representation of Input Material for Simulations • Ergonomics: Lifting &Material Handling Challenges
• Robotic Applications in the Forging Industry • Robotics Applied to Pre-and Post-Operations
• Cobot Applications to Forging • Forging Magnesium Applications Please Note: This list is not exclusive and the committee invites proposals on all areas of forging research & technology. Contact FIERF Executive Director JimWarren at jwarren@forging. org to discuss your research needs and to learn more about how the Forging Foundation can guide you through the organizational stages of the collaborative process and assist with identification of possible funding sources.
