Conclusions The Pickit 3D Billet Picker facilitates robots to perform material handling tasks straight from containers. This opens up a competitive range of solutions compared to conventional automation methods. The patented combination of 3D vision with integrated end-of- arm-tooling achieves similar performance without the traditional disadvantages of feeders, i.e., pollution, footprint, maintenance and downtime. Lastly, it offers an autonomous solution for material handling such that manufacturers are not dependent on human labor for the dirty, dull and dangerous tasks.
