INDUSTRY NEWS

CSD has deployed 3D robotic vision systems in many different applications, some of which are billet loading into heaters, and crankshaft removal from cooling conveyors and they are currently investigating using 3D vision to load Shotblast system entry

conveyors. Although not forging, CSD has also built systems using 3D vision to remove parts from totes and drive to CNC mills to robotically load and unload CNCmills.

As lead times and supply chain have made product acquisition more difficult, they have redesigned many of our control systems, removing and replacing products they extended lead times. They have also been working to bring as many of our processes in-house to decrease lead times. CSD has added CNC equipment and other metal-cutting equipment to our shop and use simulation software to confirm a successful process before releasing it. Bob Scheidegger and Joella Scheidegger (pictured right) recently went to a FANUC Leadership Conference. Bob and his colleague Paul Gilles also attended the FIA Annual Meeting of Members in Naples, Florida. They will also be at Forge Fair 2023.
