FIA ANNOUNCES 2024 SAFETY AWARD WINNERS
On April 4, 2025, the Forging Industry Association (FIA) announced its 2024 Safety Award winners. The award winners represent the top-performing facilities in FIA’s 2024 Occupational Injury & Illness Survey, which collected data for several safety categories. The 2024 FIA Safety Award Winners Are: Group IV (more than 326 employees) First Place: FRISA Forjados, S.A. De C.V. - Santa Catarina Plant Second Place: Scot Forge – Spring Grove Division Third Place: FRISA Forjados, S.A. De C.V. – Garcia Plant Group III (176–325 employees) First Place: Finkl Steel, Sorel Plant Second place: American Axle & Manufacturing, Inc., Columbus Manufacturing Facility Third Place: Portland Forge Premier Forge Group Group II (81–175 employees) First Place: Standard Forged Products Second Place: Anchor-Harvey Components, LLC Third Place: American Axle & Manufacturing, Inc., Oxford Manufacturing Facility Group I (up to 80 employees) First Place: Illinois Forge Company Division of Forge Resources Group First Place: Finkl Steel - Composite First Place: Daifuku America Corporation First Place: Midwest Tool & Cutlery Co. - MTCC - Forge Division First Place: Carbo Forge, Inc. De C.V. - Superalloys Plant In addition, facilities from each group were also recognized with an Improvement Award. These facilities showed the most significant improvement in their DART (days away from work, work restrictions, and job transfer cases) rates compared to their previous three-year averages. Companies recognized with Improvement Awards include: Group I (up to 80 employees) • Illinois Forge Company Division of Forge Resources Group Group II (81-175 employees) • American Axle & Manufacturing, Inc. Oxford Manufacturing Facility Group III (176-325 employees) • Walker Forge, Inc. Group IV (more than 326 employees) • FRISA Forjados, S.A. De C.V. Garcia Plant To determine the Safety Award winners, the FIA divided all facilities that participated in the survey into four groups based on the number of employees. The facilities in each group with the lowest recordable incident rates were eligible for awards, provided their DART rates were less than the group average. These rates were calculated using OSHA Form No. 300 data or Canadian Workers’ Compensation Reports. The Occupational Injury & Illness Survey is part of FIA’s dynamic benchmarking platform. The platform enables participants to log in anytime and customize reports to show only the needed information, which helps streamline the benchmarking process.
