Looking Ahead Winning the 2025 Trendy Award further solidifies FIERF’s commitment to impactful educational initiatives. As the organization continues to develop innovative ways to engage young audiences, this recognition serves as motivation for expanding outreach efforts and creating additional educational resources. “We believe that early exposure to manufacturing and forging can inspire future careers in these fields,” said Gibian. “This award recognizes the importance of our work and motivates us to continue finding creative ways to educate and engage the next generation.” With the momentum from this award, FIERF plans to explore additional storytelling initiatives, interactive learning experiences, and expanded partnerships with educational institutions to continue its mission of promoting the forging industry.

Both books in the series were illustrated by Kenny Kiernan, a seasoned illustrator with over 20 years of experience creating children’s characters and illustrations. Kiernan has worked on projects for major brands such as Hasbro, Mattel, Disney, Marvel, Funko, Spin Master, LEGO, and Scholastic, as well as for small businesses, entrepreneurs, and independent children's book publishers. His use of bright colors and unique character designs makes Forging with Freddy an eye-catching publication and an exciting read for children. By sparking interest in forging at an early age, Forging with Freddy aligns with FIERF’s mission to support the education and development of future professionals in the forging industry. The book is used in FIERF educational outreach programs, distributed to schools and libraries, and showcased at industry events to promote awareness and appreciation for this essential trade.
