OPERATIONS & MANAGEMENT

Jennifer Cunningham Universal Stainless, North Jackson

KellyWorden Universal Stainless, Dunkirk N.Y.

Jennifer’s job title is Forge Crew Member II, but she spends most of her workdays in the melt shop. She is also a qualified Lab Technician and VIM Crew Member. Jennifer has been with Universal Stainless for 5 years. She got started in the industry as a 22-year-old desperately looking for a stable career. She knew from very close family members that manufacturing was a great career opportunity for those looking for advancement in not only growth, but also transferable skills. Jennifer has always been attracted to the daily challenges of manufacturing and being a part of the important processes that impact our day-to-day life. Her biggest piece of advice for women looking to flourish in manufacturing is “to always remember that you are capable of doing anything. Being in a predominantly male environment, you will always have those who will doubt you, and make you second guess your career choice. As long as you put forth your greatest effort and surround yourself with those who cheer you on, you can accomplish anything. Also, be willing to learn as much as you can within your plant, it is so beneficial to furthering your career.”

Kelly is a Production Assurance Supervisor and has been with Universal Stainless for two years. Kelly started her career with USAP in 2019 as an hourly union employee and was promoted to Production Assurance Supervisor in August 2021. Kelly enjoys working in the manufacturing field because of the variety of jobs available. Isabella Donisi Universal Stainless, Dunkirk N.Y.

Isabella works in maintenance (welder) and has only been with Universal Stainless for a little over a month. She was attracted to the industry because she was looking for something different.
