Networking &Connecting In-Person

In addition to breakfast and lunch served on the show floor, Forge Fair 2021 featured two networking receptions, where all registered attendees were invited to enjoy cocktails and mingle with each other after the exhibit hall closed. The Tuesday evening reception was co-sponsored by exhibitors LASCO and Trenton Forging Co. On Wednesday evening, the reception celebrated the 60th Anniversary of the Forging Foundation (FIERF). A welcome was given by Matt Morrison, VP &General Manager from SIFCO, which was one of the founding contributing companies to the Forging Foundation. For every $60 donated during the show, donors received an entry into a raffle to win a Visa gift card. The selected raffle winner was Graham McIntosh, Universal Stainless & Alloy Products, Inc. Thank you to all that donated!

Workforce Development &Career Day Thursday, October 28 was “Career Day” at Forge Fair 2021. Students joined attendees on the show floor and connected with potential future employers to discuss internship/co-ops and job opportunities. Participating students and educators came from Wayne State University, Detroit Training Center, Macomb Community College, Monroe County Community College, Siena Heights University, University of North Texas, University of Indianapolis, Lawrence Technological University andDownriver Career Technical Consortium. The FIA Workforce Development Committee also hosted a panel session to discuss the labor issues facing the industry today. Panelists included David Schaub, Lehigh Heavy Forge; Hope Vaccaro, Ellwood Group; Chelsea Lantto, Trenton Forging; and Karen Humes, Weldaloy Specialty Forging.
