EQUIPMENT & TECHNOLOGY

8. Via the use of advanced control techniques and PowerZone technology the number of rejected parts is minimized via the use of cold start to warm the coil refractory prior to production. The use of slow speed hold to slow down the furnace to minimum production while making minor adjustments so that production can resume immediately and the ability to pace the press speed eliminates wasted energy due to parts going into reject bins. Summary Induction Heating Technology is an eco-friendly, emission-free, sustainable, and energy efficient method to heat billets and bars prior to the forging processes. Unlike a gas furnace an induction furnace can provide heat the moment the operator turns the induction heater on and does not have to warm up for hours and then be left on to maintain its temperature. In a brief short period of time a properly engineered and designed system can save enough money to pay for its initial investment. Newer systems require much less floor space, and the induction heater can be easily integrated with material handling both on the input and output ends of the machine. FORGE ALUMINUM PARTS FASTER. Schuler realizes the production of complex aluminum components in a wide variety of line designs. The use of modern press drives such as servo technology and the KERS system from our subsidiary Farina enables high output with maximum energy savings.

Several aluminum forging lines with the drive concepts mentioned are currently under construction in Europe.

The networking of the production plant enables the forged parts to be traced, increases productivity as well as plant availability.

Schuler bundles further solutions for digitization in the press plant in its Digital Suite.
