A Wide-Array of Industry Content The general session during the event delved into a diverse array of topics relevant to the forging industry, including market updates, cybersecurity, government affairs, raw materials, reshoring, leadership, and workforce development.

A standout portion of the program was a panel discussion featuring representatives from Alton Steel, Charter Steel, Eaton Steel, and Nucor. These industry experts shared invaluable insights into the present and future capacity of the North American steel industry. They also fielded questions from the audience on subjects ranging from sustainability to collaboration between forging producers and steel mills, as well as workforce development within the steel sector.

The closing keynote speaker was Lisa Ryan, Chief Appreciation Strategist and Founder of Grategy®, a Cleveland-based firm specializing in employee engagement, retention, and recognition using gratitude strategies (Grategies) for personal and professional development. She engaged the group in activities and discussion about not only recruiting but retaining employees in the industry. She covered her five “Grategies” which are: 1. Be Accessible

Attendees also left with a copy of one of her eleven books, “Manufacturing Engagement: 98 Proven Strategies to Attract and Retain Your Industry’s Top Talent.”
