REMEMBERING WILLIAM “BILL” E. HOBAN

W illiam "Bill" E. Hoban, 80, passed away peacefully on August 29, 2024. Born on April 7, 1944, in Cleveland, Ohio, Bill dedicated the majority of his career to Cleveland Hardware and Forging ("CH&F"). He started as a Payroll Clerk on August 23, 1966, and quickly advanced due to his strong work ethic. In 1979, CH&F acquired Green Bay Drop Forge ("GBDF"), prompting Bill to relocate to Green Bay as President of GBDF. In recognition of his accomplishments, Bill was inducted into the St. Peter Chanel Hall of Fame in April 2007. He also served multiple terms as Chairman of the Forging Industry Association and contrib uted to the Green Bay community through board memberships at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton, NWTC, and the Weidner Center. Bill was known for his generous spirit and humor. He and his wife Cynthia spent 30 years in Sanibel, Florida, where he was affection ately called “the Mayor of Sanibel.” Bill had a knack for making friends wherever he went, often sharing his entertaining stories and engaging with children. He is survived by his wife Cynthia, four children, and 13 grandchil dren. Bill's legacy includes a commitment to helping others, encour aging those he touched to "pay it forward" in his memory. The Forging Industry Association is grateful for Bill’s contributions to the organization and industry. We send our condolences to his friends and family during this difficult time.
