ANTICIPATING THE 2024 FORGING INDUSTRY TECHNICAL CONFERENCE An Opportunity to Connect Industry, Technology and Academia

The first day will close with a Welcome Reception which will offer attendees the opportunity to network among academic and industry peers and professionals. The second day, September 18th, will open with breakfast and then move into two sepa rate breakout tracks with Jin Kim from the University of North Texas presenting on "Laser Assisted Coating of FeCoNiCrTiAl Complex Concentrated Alloy System on Steel Forging Die Materials and Dies." At the same time, John Watton, PhD, from Hill Engineering will discuss the "Implementa tion of a Rapid Design Software System for Impression Die Forgings," showcasing inno vative approaches to design optimization.

H osted by the Forging Industry Educational & Research Founda tion (FIERF) every-other year, the 33rd Forging Industry Technical Conference is set to kick off on Tuesday, September 17th, at Bay Front Conference Center in Erie, PA. Historically, more than 200 attendees from around the world participate in this conference to network and explore the latest advancements and opportunities within the forging industry. The event will begin with a grab and go breakfast in preparation for the highlight of the morning: a guided tour of the Ajax CECO plant. Shuttles will depart from the Bayfront Convention Center. During the tour, industry professionals will engage in a firsthand exploration of Ajax-CECO’s manufacturing processes and innovations. Their lineup includes upsetters, program mable hammers, presses, wire & bar drawers, forging rolls, and automation solutions. Each machine is meticulously designed and

crafted with a focus on quality, reliability, and longevity. The tour will provide valu able insights into modern forging equipment and technology. Returning to the Bayfront Convention Center for the afternoon, attendees will gather for lunch and an opportunity to explore various table tops showcasing cutting-edge products and services. The afternoon general session program will include updates from the Forging Industry Association (FIA) and the Forging Industry Educational and Research Foundation (FIERF). Dr. Prabir Chaudhury of Educa tion and Consulting LLC will deliver a compelling presentation on "Opportuni ties and Benefits for the Forging Industry Utilizing Advances in Metal Additive Manu facturing (AM)." His insights will highlight the transformative potential of AM technol ogies in forging applications. The technical sessions will continue with a presentation entitled "Robotic Mate
