Extensive Understanding of Copper To forge copper, one must truly understand copper alloys technical requirements. This will ensure quality copper forged parts that meet rigorous demands and standards. Pure copper can be challenging to forge. The material itself is very soft which makes it ideal for machining processes. Pure copper can easily buckle under the intense forging process – which can result in cracking and other quality imperfections that would result in poor part quality. Each metal group poses its challenges when forging them. Depending on the requirements of the final forged part, perfecting the forging process is vital to ensure the longevity of the part. Proper tooling and other equipment are also essential to ensure copper parts are forged properly. Having a teamwith decades of experience in forging copper alloys is a vital asset for customers looking for copper forged parts. Weldaloy has 75 years of experience of forging copper under our belts and currently account for roughly half of our business. We understand the unique challenges that copper alloys pose when forging and take extra measures to ensure our forged parts are structurally sound. Our tagline is ‘ custom forging. customer-focused .’ this is something that we strive to live out every day, we can forge many different parts independent of quantity and size requirements. We offer expert advice and technical assistance for our customers. AWell-Stocked Inventory For any forging company, maintaining a well-stocked inventory from reliable suppliers is essential. For copper alloys, there is a large spectrum of alloys that are used for many different applications. Pure copper is best known for its excellent conductibility in both heat and electricity. However, on its own, copper is very corrosive. Copper alloys provide additional characteristics fromothermaterials by creating a stronger, more reliable material for copper parts. AtWeldaloy, we have a wide variety of copper alloys in our inventory. We stock three variants of pure grade copper – including 99.9999% pure, Oxygen Free Copper. Additionally, we house a huge selection of copper alloys for various applications, including Zirconium Copper, Chromium ZirconiumCopper, and Naval Brass. We don’t have any pre-cut parts that we keep in stock – we stock the material so that we can forge custom parts that meet the customers’ tolerances and needs. Whatever copper alloy you need, Weldaloy certainly has you covered. Being Certified andMeeting Customer Standards To become a trusted name in copper forgings, one must become certified tomeet customer standards. This takes customer dedication to a whole new level, as some certification processes can take years to become fully certified to be a supplier. So why do it? Why take the time to become a certified supplier in many different processes? Because it assures customers of your commitment to their business. For copper forgers, it’s especially important to meet our customer’s stringent quality standards. Many of the copper parts Weldaloy forges are used in the power generation and electronic industries. This included various forged rings (slip rings, split-ring commutators, shorting rings, and commutator rings to name a few). We work with some of the largest domestic power generation and electronic companies that power homes and businesses throughout the country. Weldaloy invested the time, energy, and costs to become certified suppliers for all our customers. Most of our copper forgings customers have worked with Weldaloy for more than 10 years.
