Methodology To determine award recipients, FIA categorized participating facilities into four groups based on employee size. Facilities with the lowest total recordable incident rates (TRIR) were eligible for awards, provided their DART rates were below the group average. Data was derived from OSHA Form 300 logs or Canadian workers’ compensation reports. FIA works directly with participating member companies throughout the submission and validation process to ensure data accuracy and meaningful benchmarking outcomes. The survey is administered through FIA’s benchmarking platform, enabling participants to securely submit data and access customizable industry comparisons.
